Good Evening to All,

This past week has been full of improvements! Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday dad was holding numbers completely on his own as well as now. Earlier this week they moved him from the ventilator to a breathing system called CPAP. CPAP is a step towards improvement meaning the machine is still hooked up to his trach collar but he is breathing 100% on his own only reliant on the machine to inflate his lungs mechanically to keep the fluid buildup away. The cast was removed from his leg and replaced with a soft cast for stability. He has full motion of both arms complaining of no pain whatsoever. While doing there weakly blood test they did detect some form of staff infection, they are not quite sure where to pinpoint where the bacteria came from but they are linking his slight fever to that. No medicine has been required to treat this as they are doing further tests to confirm it. Dad is very alert and oriented and is able to answer all questions asked. At this time he is still unable to speak but able to mouth words with his lips. They are trying to sit him up in a chair for 2 hours a day to keep him moving to prevent sores from laying in the same position. they attempted to take him completely off the breathing machine for an hour but he struggled with the change. Dialysis is still being continued and at this point is being used to mainly pull fluid off, his weight loss is very noticeable and right on target with what the doctors want. We will continue to update everyone weekly and as things change! Thank you for everyone's continued support and prayers!
